The Melodious Middle – The MB 3 Wideband Driver
The MB 3 is a full-range 3″ / 80 mm wideband driver that boasts similar design methodologies to the larger drivers. It features a magnetically inert, aerodynamically transparent aluminium frame. Within this is an ultra-rigid 3K carbon fibre membrane surrounded by an nitrile butyl rubber surround. Below this resides a strong double spider with integrated braids which is attached to a 38 mm coil on fibreglass former. Surrounding it is a strong neodymium magnet and machined aluminium retainer plate. The MB 3 is capable of producing absolutely lifelike middle range harmonies and vocals.
